令和5年10月21日(土) 殿様街道探訪ウォークin秋が開催されました。
“Tonosama Kaidou Walk in Spring” was held on October 21, 2023.
“Tonosama Kaidou Walk” is a tour to walk an old road in spring and autumn.
“Tonosama” means lord in matsumae domain.
今回は、前日までの降雨により斜面崩壊や河川増水等による危険も高まっているということで開催形式を変更して実施されました。
This time, the format of the event was changed due to the increased risk of slope collapse and rising river water due to rainfall up to the previous day.
開会挨拶として、福島町千軒地域活性化実行委員会会長 佐藤孝男さん、福島町 町長 鳴海清春さん、福島町千軒地区 森の名手名人 笹島義廣さんよりご挨拶いただきました。
Opening remarks were given by Takao Sato, Chairman of the Fukushima town Sengen Area Revitalization Executive Committee, Kiyoharu Narumi, Mayor of Fukushima-town, and Yoshihiro Sasajima, a master woodsman in the Fukushima-town Sengen area.

その後、福島町教育委員会学芸員の鈴木さん、福島町千軒地域活性化実行委員会副会長でもある中塚社長より歴史解説が行われました。
Afterwards, Ms. Suzuki, curator of the Fukushima Town Board of Education, and President Nakatsuka, vice president of the Fukushima Town Sengen Community Revitalization Executive Committee, gave historical explanations.
今回のテーマは”堀田仁助”。伊能忠敬の西暦1800年の第一次蝦夷地測量の1年前、1799年に北海道の一部を測量をしたと言われています。
The theme of this issue is “Hotta Nisuke”. It is said that he surveyed a part of Hokkaido in 1799, one year before Ino Tadataka’s first survey of Ezochi in 1800.
この”従江都至東海蝦夷地針路之図”は、島根県にある津和野郷土館さんから特別に許可をいただき、複製を準備しました。滅多にお目にかかれません。
We have received special permission from the Tsuwano local museum in Shimane Prefecture to make a reproduction of this “Kouto yori toukai ezochi ni itaru shinro no zu”. It is rarely seen.
その後、参加者のみなさんに特製抹茶と千軒そば饅頭が振る舞われました。
Afterwards, participants were served special matcha green tea and sengen soba manju (buckwheat buns).
そしてみなさまお待ちかねの松前神楽。
Then, the long-awaited Matsumae Kagura.
千歳舞。初めて見ました。
“Senzai mai”. I saw it for the first time.
素晴らしい舞いでした。
It was a wonderful dance.
最後に千軒そばの会さんによる手打ちの”千軒そば”をみんなでいただきました。新そばの香りが豊かな大変おいしい蕎麦でした。
At the end of the event, everyone enjoyed handmade “Sengen Soba” made by the Sengen Soba Association. It was a very tasty dish with the rich aroma of fresh soba.
今回は生憎の雨模様のため殿様街道を歩くことはできませんでした。
しかしいつも以上に詳細な歴史解説を聴くことができ、貴重な経験になったのではないかと思います。
また来年春には大勢で殿様街道を歩けるよう、願っています。
Due to the unfortunate rainy weather, we were not able to walk along the Tonosama Kaidou this time.
However, we were able to listen to a more detailed historical explanation than usual, which I believe was a valuable experience.
We hope that many of us will be able to walk along the Tonosama Kaidou again next spring.
